Pardner Scores 16 as UCCS Falls to Division I Northern Colorado

Darius Pardner scored 16 points and went four-of-six from the three-point line to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (1-1 exhibition) in a 99-61 loss to Division I Northern Colorado (1-0 exhibition) tonight at the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion in Greeley. Jordan Carter finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds for the Mountain Lions. Kyle Clark added two blocked shots for UCCS.

The Mountain Lions made half of their field goals in the first half from beyond the three-point line, and Carter led the team at the break with nine points. Pardner scored 10 points in the second period to match the most for either team in the half.

UCCS played to a closer margin to the Bears in the second half and held the Big Sky Conference's best three-point shooting team last season to nine percentage points below it's season average of 2010-11.

Up Next: The Mountain Lions open the 2012-13 regular season in Winona, Minn., against Bemidji State on Nov. 16.
