Mountain Lions No. 11 in RMAC Preseason Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs came in at No. 11 in the 2012-13 RMAC Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll released this afternoon. The Mountain Lions are already 1-0 during the 2012 exhibition season.

The coaches picked UCCS to finish one spot ahead of last season with multiple RMAC leaders returning from 2011-12. Alex Koehler, the second-best three-point shooter in the conference last season, shot 46.7 percent and was fifth in the league in three-pointers made. He made four 3-pointers against Northern New Mexico last week and finished with 14 points.

Darius Pardner, the leading scorer against the Eagles on Thursday night, ranked among the conference leaders last season in free throw percentage, steals, three-point percentage and three-pointers made. He went six-of-10 from the field last week with three assists.

UCCS will continue the exhibition season next Tuesday night in a 7:05 p.m. game at Northern Colorado. The Bears were picked third in the Big Sky Conference preseason poll.
