Four Mountain Lions receive academic honors

COLORADO SPRINGS- Basketball players Jordan Carter, Payden Ackerman, Lauren Wolfinger and Ashley Miller were named to the 2011-12 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Honor Roll this week.

A sophomore communications major from Littleton, Carter carries a 3.31 GPA and has played in every game this season.  He has accumulated seven blocks, the third most on the team.

Ackerman is a senior communications student from Trinidad who boasts a 3.91 GPA and is currently fifth all-time in 3-pointers made by a Mountain Lion. 

Out of Silver Creek High School in Longmont, Wolfinger holds a 3.40 GPA as a communications major. The junior is currently third on the team in assists and has the second most 3-pointers made. This is her second RMAC All-Academic award in as many opportunities.

Miller is a communications major carrying a 3.51 GPA. The senior from Ellicott is currently leading the team in blocks with 17, a mark that is good enough for fifth in the RMAC.
