UCCS announces dates for girls summer basketball camps
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs womenâ€TMs basketball coach Stephen Kirkham announced Wednesday that the Mountain Lions will be holding three camps this summer.
The first will be a day camp for 6-10 year olds and will run from June 8-11 at the UCCS Recreation Center. From June 15-18, Kirkham will hold a camp for 11-18 year olds that will be able to accommodate both commuters and overnight campers. The third will be a commuter skill camp June 22-25, also for 11-18 year olds.
Kirkham, who is also the UCCS athletic director, has posted a 300-158 record as a Division II basketball coach with all but two of those games coming when he led then-powerhouse Mesa State to four Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships. His teams were ranked in the national Top 25 five times and his record in conference play over that period was 175-69. Including stints as a coach at the high school and junior college levels, Kirkhamâ€TMs career record is 432-233.
