Weaver named RMAC East Divison player of the week
Nick Weaver of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was name the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference East Division player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
The senior from Phoenix matched his career high for scoring with 31 points against Mesa State on Friday and then came back on Saturday to break it with 35 points against Western State. Weaver, who averaged 33 points and shot 40 percent from the floor in the home split, has now had five 30-point games in just 15 games this season, matching the UCCS career record set by Patrick Hannaway from 2005-07.
Weaver is the RMACâ€TMs leading scorer at 23.9 points per game. If he can continue that pace, he would also overtake Hannaway for the highest scoring single season ever at UCCS (560).
