UCCS tops Grizzlies to gain first victory of the season
Dolly Fiedelman scored 17 points for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to lead UCCS to a 56-59 victory over the Adams State Grizzlies for the Mountain Lions first win of the season Saturday in Alamosa.
Helping lead the Mountain Lions (1-6, 1-1 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) to victory Emily Jenkins scored 12 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and had four steals while Jenean Jubic scored a career high nine points.
With only 54 seconds remaining in the game Nicole Tatum tied the game for the Grizzlies (2-7) with a lay-up assisted by Jocelyn Pardilla before Fiedelman scored with 38 seconds left to again put the Mountain Lions ahead.
UCCS kept the lead from there on out.
The Mountain Lions will face Western State on Dec. 16 at the Lionsâ€TM Den.
