Home dedication mutually warm

There will be a lot of mutual warmth going around on Sunday.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs womenâ€TMs basketball team will feel the warmth that comes with doing a good deed. The Castanon family will experience warmth as a result of that good deed.

Habitat for Humanity will dedicate the Castanonâ€TMs renovated home at 1019 Maxwell Drive on Sunday at 2 p.m. On Sept. 3, the UCCS womenâ€TMs basketball team spent the day at the home installing the insulation that will help protect the family from the elements.

“The girls were able to meet the family,” said UCCS coach Jessika Stratton. “They were able to see who they were doing this for.”

The project was an illustration of two things: Strattonâ€TMs drive to give back to the Colorado Springs community in which she was raised and her dedication to giving her players a fully-rounded college experience.

“College is a time where we learn new things and giving back to those less fortunate is one of those important life lessons,” said Stratton. “Iâ€TMm happy we were able to help the Castanon family, and Iâ€TMm equally happy with the positive experience we had.”
