Jennine Sauter and Julie Richards scored 18 points each but the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was crushed 105-69 by the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs Saturday night at Alamosa.

The Mountain Lions seemed to have built some momentum with Fridayâ€TMs win over Pittsburg State in the first game of the Best Western Alamosa Inn Classic. Saturdayâ€TMs game, though, was all WTAMU.

Sauter scored six points as the Mountain Lions kept the game even at 12-all through the first five minutes. A Richards layup had UCCS trailing 19-17 when the Lady Buffs reeled off a 7-0 run. WTAMU built the lead to 50-33 at the half.

The Mountain Lions couldnâ€TMt slow the Buffs down in the second half, getting outscored 55-36.

Three WTAMU (2-0) players scored 20 or more points, led by Emily Bristerâ€TMs 25.

Stephanie Sauter scored 13 points for UCCS (1-1), while Crystal Armendarez came off the bench to score 11 points on 4-for-5 shooting and grab seven rebounds in 20 minutes.

The Lady Buffs shot 52.8 percent from the field, including making 11-of-22 from 3-point range. They also outrebounded UCCS 51-32 to give coach Bob Schneider his 994th career win.
