Hannaway named player of the week
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs junior Patrick Hannaway was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference West Division Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Hannaway had a career high 28 points against Fort Hays State and a total 73 points (24.3 average) as the Mountain Lions went 1-2 this past week. He also grabbed 8.3 rebounds per game and had seven steals and three blocked shots. For the week, he went 24-for-43 from the field (55.8 percent).
The Mountain Lions had their first win of the season on Thursday night against Chadron State at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, where he led the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Against Division I Wyoming on Monday, Hannaway had 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
Hannaway currently leads the RMAC in scoring at 21.2 points per game and is fifth in rebounding with 9.2 per game.
