Fort Lewis beats CU-Colorado Springs
The Fort Lewis Skyhawks beat the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs 90-70 Friday night in Whalen Gymnasium.
With the win, the Skyhawks clinched the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's West Division and the No. 2 seed in the upcoming RMAC Tournament.
Jim Pecic had 18 points and nine rebounds and Torrey Phillips had six points and nine assists for CU-Colorado Springs. Patrick Simpson and Zach Wheat had nine points each.
Nick Brooks came off to bench and had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the Skyhawks.
The Skyhawks held the Mountain Lions to 37 percent shooting in the first half and led 44-28 at halftime.
CU-Colorado Springs now has just three games remaining to avoid being the first team in school history to not win a game.
