Former Mountain Lions basketball player Elise Hazelwood was chosen to receive degree-completion grant for the 2004-05 academic year.

The grants, which were announced in the July 5 issue of the NCAA News, are made available annually to Division II student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility but are near completion of their degrees. The NCAA awarded 98 such grants this year.

Hazelwood played two seasons for Colorado-Colorado Springs after transferring from Hesston College. The 6-foot-1 center averaged 3.8 points and 3.7 rebounds for the Mountain Lions.
